WHAT IS CHRISTIAN WATER BAPTISM?

Baptism by immersion is a public way to celebrate the spiritual transformation that has taken place within you at your new birth. In Christianity, it is the final step on the path to salvation, officially making you a child of God.

Thus, the water of baptism symbolizes both the death, through immersion, of the believer's past life, subject to sin, and their birth into a divine and eternal dimension, which we also call the new birth. Water baptism is also a symbol of cleansing from past sin and the beginning of a new life in Christ.

BAPTISM OF CHILD WHAT IS IT?

At Freedom House Church in Manchester, children aged 12 and over who have decided to follow Jesus can be baptised if they understand its meaning.

To all young children who wish to be baptized at Freedom House Church in Manchester, please know that it's not just about immersing their heads and bodies in water. It's about showing their loved ones that you now believe in Jesus Christ.

At our church, we firmly believe that the decision to be baptized should be made by children themselves, not by their parents. By making this decision, they are manifesting what is in their hearts through their faith in Jesus Christ.

Christian water baptism is a symbol of cleansing their old life and beginning a new life with Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:1-4, Colossians 2:12, 1 Corinthians 10:1-2, and 2 Corinthians 5:17)

It is a Christian rite where bread and wine are shared to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The bread symbolizes the body of Jesus given as a sacrifice to save us from sin and the wine symbolizes his blood that was shed on the cross of Golgotha for the forgiveness of our sins.
