OBJECTIVE OF THIS TEACHING:
"DISCOVERING THE HISTORICAL AND PROPHETIC PORTRAIT OF JESUS CHRIST"
This teaching is an educational series in the form of a written documentary whose objective is to bring the people of God to discover the true story of JESUS CHRIST according to the Bible and the prophetic meaning of this story.
My concern in this new series is to bring Christians to discover another facet of our Lord JESUS CHRIST, a historical and prophetic personality whose life and ministry have marked history from Antiquity to the present day.
During our teaching we will try to trace the true story of our Lord Jesus Christ as told by the authors of the Gospels or his apostles and to discover the prophetic side of this story.
Finally, this teaching will lead us to understand clearly who Jesus Christ really is, who the Gospels speak of. So get ready to discover a real side of Jesus that you have never discovered before.
ACTS 1:11
1 Theophilus, I have written in my first book all things that Jesus began to do and to teach from the beginning, 2 until the day he was taken up into heaven, having given orders in the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. 3 After he had suffered, he appeared to them alive and gave them many proofs, standing before them forty days and speaking to them about the kingdom of God. 4 While he was still with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Father, which I have announced to you. 5 For John truly baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days. 6 The apostles came together and asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” » 7 He answered and said to them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father has put in his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. 9 After he had said this, while they were looking on, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 While they were looking intently into heaven as he went, behold, two men in white stood by them, 11 saying, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This same Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.”
HISTORICAL PORTRAIT OF JESUS CHRIST:
For centuries, many researchers and scientists have been asking this explosive question about the existence of our Lord Jesus Christ on earth. If it is true that JESUS CHRIST really existed, where are the proofs and traces of his existence?
A CONTESTED PROPHETIC FIGURE:
Certainly, the miracles attributed to Christ in the Gospels are difficult for our modern minds to grasp. But this is not a reason to conclude that Jesus of Nazareth did not exist and that he is an imaginary character or invented by history. For example, for some scientists, saying that he walked on water when no man is scientifically capable of doing so was proof that he did not exist.
But the miracle of walking on water is only one among many others.
The fact that he did some things in Galilee, others in Jerusalem, and that he was condemned to death for his actions by the Romans with the complicity of the Jewish religious leaders of his time, all this fits perfectly into a certain scenario of which we can find today some archaeological traces demonstrating the veracity of certain historical scenes that occur in the Gospels.
THE GOOD NEWS ON THE EXISTENCE OF JESUS:
The good news for Christians who believe in the historical existence of Jesus Christ is that today, most archaeologists no longer doubt the existence of the historical figure of Jesus. As excavations are carried out in the Holy Land, his historical portrait confirms that the man from Galilee JESUS CHRIST did indeed exist on earth.
Eric Meyers, archaeologist and professor emeritus at Duke University, said that he does not know of any eminent scholar who doubts the historical existence of Jesus Christ. He stressed that “we have been hesitating about the details for centuries, but no serious person doubts his existence.
The debate about his existence from a scientific and historical point of view is therefore almost non-existent. But the debate is about the true story of JESUS CHRIST, starting with his birth, where he grew up, his ministry, his death, his resurrection and ascension and even his second coming to earth.
And in this Bible study, we will delve into the oldest library in the world called the Bible in search of the truth about the true story of JESUS CHRIST because we believe that only the Bible, the word of God revealed by men, can teach us better the true story of JESUS CHRIST.
