UNDERSTANDING WHO SATAN IS (PART THREE)

DID SATAN INVENT EVIL?

WHY IS HE CONSIDERED THE FATHER OF EVIL?

Many Christians think that it was Satan the devil who invented the existence of evil, but few of them know that it was not Satan who invented evil, it already existed long before the creation of Lucifer.

Like any angel of his category, since his creation lucifer already knows the existence of good and evil, but this wonderful creature that God had created who would later become Satan at a certain stage of his life, he had made the choice to stop practicing good and to identify with evil, that is to say to practice the knowledge of evil

I wanted to emphasize here that good and evil already existed before the creation of Lucifer, but in the history of the existence of the world, Satan the devil became the father of evil because he was the first to identify with evil and to practice it and also to influence others to practice evil like him.

Because to be God you must know good and evil, that is why the tree planted in the middle of the garden from which man was forbidden to eat except for God himself was called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because God already knew before the creation of all things that good and evil exist but he made the choice to practice good and refuse evil.

That is why Satan told Eve that God knows that the day you eat of it you will be like him. which was true because by knowing good and evil he had become like god. And God himself will confirm this truth in the book of Genesis 3:22 which I quote here now man has become like one of us so prevent him from eating from the tree of life so that he lives forever.

So evil is not an invention of the devil, Satan did not create evil, it already existed before the foundation of the world, it is the knowledge of evil that makes God God. For he has a perfect knowledge of good and evil, but he made his choice to identify with good. The devil took the evil that already existed and identified himself with this evil that has become his identity today and everything that chooses to practice evil identifies itself with the devil because he has become the incarnation of evil, the prince of darkness and the father of evil.

Genesis 2:9

And out of the ground the LORD God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food: the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 2:15-17

15And the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and to keep it. 16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Genesis 3:1-7

1Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, Has God said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?’ 2The woman said to the serpent, ‘We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden.’ 3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’

4Then the serpent said to the woman, ‘You shall not surely die.’ 5For God does know that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes will be opened, and you will be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and that it was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat; and she gave also to her husband, which was with her: and he did eat. 7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked: and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Genesis 3:22-24

22And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: now therefore let us forbid him, that he should put forth his hand, and take of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever. 23And the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. 24So he sent Adam out; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden cherubims waving a flaming sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.

IS LUCIFER SATAN'S REAL NAME?

No, Lucifer is not his real name, it is just a description of Satan before his fall or rebellion. In reality, the proper name of Satan, the devil, remains unknown to this day, all the names and appellations attributed to him are common nouns.

What does the common noun mean: A common noun is a name used to designate beings, objects of the same species or notions that belong to the same logical category or the same species. (For example a dog, a lion etc ...) It generally has a determiner and begins with a lowercase letter.

What does proper noun mean: A proper noun is a name that is used to identify in a particular or personal way a person, an object or a place. For example Bella, Daniel, Paris, Manchester etc. Thus, the devil Satan Lucifer according to the Bible is a cherub angel who does not have a proper name that personally identifies him as the Bible expresses it in the case of other angels like Gabrielle and Michel. All the names the Bible reveals to us to identify him are just common names.

WHAT DOES THE DEVIL LOOK LIKE?

DOES HE HAVE THE HORNS WE SEE IN SOME DRAWINGS?

According to the Bible based on the book of Ezekiel 28:12-19 and Isaiah 14:12-14.

The details that are mentioned in these texts clearly demonstrate that Satan has a beautiful appearance at the time of his creation before his fall.

The idea of a Satan with horns on his head began to circulate from the 9th century, when Christian artists wanted to represent Satan in images to give people an idea of his person. It was at this time that people began to represent Satan in Christian art with horns, cloven hooves, unusual legs and a tail, often naked and holding a pitchfork. The idea behind these caricatures was to reveal his evil and wicked side.

However, we see him take many forms described in the Bible ranging from a serpent to a dragon, sometimes he looks like a roaring lion. Thus, also being a spirit that does not have a physical body at the time he wants to make a physical appearance, he can take any appearance and form he wants to communicate with his own.

Although the book of Genesis does not mention it, Christians often identify the serpent in the Garden of Eden with Satan. In Revelation, Satan appears as a great red dragon, defeated by the Archangel Michael and cast out of heaven because of his rebellion.

DOES SATAN HAVE SUPREME AUTHORITY AND POWER?

The answer to this question will certainly be no, first because he is not a sovereign God, he himself is a creature among the creatures that the Eternal created, so being already a created creature his power is already limited, so he has no supreme power and authority.

Secondly, Satan has no supreme authority over us, because he is a being who has already been defeated and destroyed on the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ. He is therefore an adversary defeated in advance, he has no power or authority over the true children of God and over the Church of the Lord.

Despite the fact that he is already defeated and destroyed, there are still people on earth who believe in him, in his power and authority. People who take him for a god and are ready to submit to the devil in search of power, protection, motherhood, wealth and other needs.

But according to the knowledge of the Bible, despite his destruction on the cross of Golgota, he continues to exercise his authority and power over a group of fallen angels and over the people he himself initiated into his evil activities, those we call Satanists. He also has authority over all those who obey his lies and over the categories of humans we call unbelievers.

WHY IN A PLACE AS EXTREMELY PURE AS HEAVEN DID SATAN HAVE THE IDEA TO PRACTICE EVIL? WHERE DID HE GET THESE IDEAS FROM?

The answer to this question is simple: Satan was created with a divine capacity, like a little god with the ability to decide freely in his mind. It is the divine and pious side that allows him to have the deep knowledge of good and evil from the first days of his creation.

NB: he was not created to act like a robot but to act with all his conscience with the free choice to choose between good and evil. Because of his characteristics, Because of his

characteristics, he was like a little god in the sky.

I wanted to emphasize here that he was not the only one in this category of angel, many other angels in his category all have divine abilities within them. And historically, like any angel in his category, since his creation, Lucifer already knows the existence of good and evil.

The cherub Lucifer after having worthily served the Eternal as confirmed by the word at a certain stage of his life, he decided himself without being influenced by anyone to stop practicing good and to identify with evil, that is to say to practice the knowledge of evil

HAS A THIRD OF THE ANGELS FALLEN WITH LUCIFER?

No verse literally says in black and white that "a third of the angels fell from heaven with Lucifer" but by associating several verses of the Bible one can arrive at this conclusion.

Starting from the book of (Isaiah 14:12) "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning? how art thou cast down to the earth, thou that overthrowest the nations!" Dan

(Luke 10:18) Jesus said: "I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning." And in Revelation (Revelation 9:1), Satan is described as "a star fallen from heaven to earth."

The scriptures also confirm Dan (Hebrews 12:22) "tens of thousands of angels have chosen to rebel with Lucifer."

John in the vision of the apocalypse saw this great miraculous sign in heaven: "a great red fiery dragon, whose tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth." And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast out to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:3-9)

In conclusion, we notice that in all these verses, Satan is described as a star that fell or was cast to the earth, and Revelation 12:4 says that a third of the stars fell with him. We can conclude that the stars of Revelation 12 are the fallen angels, or a third of all the angels. Although this number is to be interpreted literally, it really reassures us that two-thirds of the angels are still on the side of God and those who follow Christ.
